This project exists because patients deserve to understand every option available to them, even the ones that sound strange at first.
MaggotTruth is an independent public education project about maggot therapy, also called larval debridement therapy or LDT. The mission is to make this treatment understandable and less scary for patients, families, and curious members of the public.
The creator has a background in wound care research and cares about translating complicated science into language people can actually use. This site is not affiliated with any institution, clinic, company, university, or research program.
The goal is not to convince every person that maggot therapy is right for them. The goal is to replace shock and shame with clear information, humane stories, and better questions.
